# Skills

> Let Claude Code, Codex or Cursor generate with Blon.

Blon publishes task-shaped [Agent Skills](https://www.anthropic.com/engineering/equipping-agents-for-the-real-world-with-agent-skills) for coding agents that support the `SKILL.md` format. A skill tells the agent when to use it and which `blon` commands to run, so it generates with your Blon account and credits.

## Install

> The skills run the `blon` CLI, which has not been published to npm yet. These steps work once the first release is out.

**1. Install the CLI and sign in**

```bash theme={null}
npm i -g @blon/cli && blon auth login
```

Sign-in opens a browser to approve. See [CLI](https://docs.blon.ai/cli.md).

**2. Add the skills**

```bash theme={null}
npx skills add https://github.com/BlonAI/social-web/tree/main/skills
```

To install one skill only:

```bash theme={null}
npx skills add https://github.com/BlonAI/social-web/tree/main/skills --skill generate-image
```

Ask the agent in plain words, for example "generate a 16:9 banner of a ceramic teapot", or invoke a skill directly with `/generate-image`. The agent runs `blon generate … --wait --json`, reads the job JSON, and gives you the artifact URL and asset id. Files you point it at are uploaded automatically.

## How the agent handles failures

The skills follow the CLI exit codes:

| Exit code | What the agent does |
| - | - |
| `1` | Relays the message; on 401 asks you to run `blon auth login` again |
| `2` | Relays the job error and does not resubmit paid work on its own |
| `3` | Stops and tells you the balance is too low |

An interrupted video wait is resumed with `blon jobs wait <id>`, not submitted again.

## CI

In CI, set `BLON_API_KEY` to a `blon_api_` key and skip `blon auth login`. The key's workspace balance is spent instead of your credits.
